North Liberty bookkeeper accused of making over $50,000 in unauthorized purchases on employer’s credit card

A North Liberty bookkeeper faces charges that she made tens of thousands of dollars in unauthorized purchases on her employer’s credit card.

39-year-old Holli Brown of Cedar Rapids was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 6:45 Friday morning. North Liberty Police say Brown was working as a bookkeeper for a North Liberty business when she was issued a company credit card for business expenses. Arrest records indicate that between October of 2018 and February 15th of this year Brown used the card to make over $50,000 in personal purchases not authorized by the company.

Brown is charged with 1st Degree Theft and Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card Totaling Over $10,000. If convicted on both charges, she faces a maximum of 20 years in prison.
