An Iowa City man with a history of domestic abuse charges was arrested again Friday for allegedly violating a no-contact order twice last month.

32-year-old Tremell Wilkins of the Town & Campus Apartments on Arthur Street was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 8am Friday. Iowa City Police say Wilkins texted the protected party just after 12:15am on March 26th. Around noon that day he allegedly called the victim multiple times.

The no-contact order was first issued on March 19th. That’s the day police arrested Wilkins for allegedly using Facebook to send an image of a woman engaged in a sex act to her new boyfriend. The woman told authorities that she had not given Wilkins permission to share the image. Wilkins was charged with 1st Degree Harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a jail term of up to two years if convicted.

Police report that they have arrested Wilkins in the past for domestic assault, but there have been no convictions.
