A Coralville man was charged with his second OWI Thursday night after crashing his vehicle into a house.

Police say the incident occurred just before 9:30 on the 2100 block of Holiday Road. 43-year-old William Woodall was driving his 2010 Ford and failed to negotiate the curve, wrecking his vehicle when it crashed into an unoccupied vehicle and house.

Officers on scene noted that Woodall had slurred speech and unsteady balance, and he allegedly stated that he had taken prescribed drugs. A DRE evaluation concluded that Woodall was under the influence of a central nervous system stimulant and believed him to be unable to operate a motor vehicle safely.

Woodall was taken into custody and charged with his second OWI, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a sentence of up to two years if convicted.
