An allegedly intoxicated Oxford man with a revoked license is accused of having a juvenile with a learner’s permit drive him around.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy came upon a 2000 Buick Century in the southwest ditch near the intersection of Highway 6 and Eagle Avenue just after 2:30 Wednesday afternoon. The driver was a juvenile with a learner’s permit. The passenger was identified as 50-year-old Tim Pudil of 400th Street SW.

The deputy reports smelling the odor of ingested alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. Pudil allegedly showed multiple signs of intoxication, admitted to drinking two beers and refused breath testing. Investigators say he also left the vehicle without being told to do so.

Pudil is charged with Child Endangerment and Public Intoxication. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of 25 months in jail.
