A Tiffin man was taken into custody after being accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.
Police say the incident occurred the evening of January 9th in the 3400 block of Deer Creek Road in Coralville. According to the criminal complaint, 19-year-old Alexander Beckman of Cherry Lane committed multiple sex acts against the girl.
A warrant for Beckman’s arrest was issued on Thursday, and he was taken into custody at 10:45 that night. He’s been charged with two counts of 3rd degree Sexual Abuse and one count of Lascivious Acts with a Child. If convicted on all counts, he could be sentenced to up to 30 years in prison.
A No-Contact Order was requested, and granted by Judge Deborah Minot Friday.
