An Iowa City woman with a colorful criminal history has been arrested on drug charges again, a little over two weeks after an arrest for the same offenses.
23-year-old Orlanda Littlelight of Erobi Lane was a passenger in a 1997 Cadillac that was called in after a concerned citizen called in because the car crashed into a snowbank Tuesday just after 8pm. A service dog detected drugs in the vehicle, and a subsequent search allegedly found methamphetamine, four Clonazepam tablets, marijuana and a pipe to smoke it.
Littlelight’s been charged with three possession charges and a paraphernalia charge, and could be sentenced to over three years in prison.
On January 31st, Littlelight was stopped due to outstanding warrants on a Class C Controlled Substance Violation and a serious misdemeanor for possession. She was allegedly in possession of two baggies of meth and a small amount of marijuana in that incident, and the warrants stemmed from a search of her residence that found meth and numerous conversations on her phone reportedly related to her involvement in acquiring and distributing meth.
Back in September, Littlelight was stopped for driving while revoked, but allegedly would only identify herself as “Mystic.” She reportedly would not give her legal name to the officer, and was charged with providing a false ID, harassment of a public official, and driving while revoked. The incident is being held open for review.
In October of 2019, Littlelight and her companion were allegedly found partially clothed and passed out in a running vehicle. She got her first OWI but was given a deferred judgement. A year ago this month, Littlelight was arrested for driving while revoked, and a pre-jail search turned up a half tablet of Xanax and drug paraphernalia. A case management conference on that incident has been rescheduled five times and now is set for March 29th.
