A Hills woman was arrested Friday after a long investigation into her alleged drug possession and dealing.

Authorities began their contact with 22-year-old Faith Mattson on November 5th, when she made arrangements to meet with an undercover detective that night on Riverside Drive and sell 7 Xanax pills for $50.

On November 12th, Mattson allegedly contacted an undercover detective, saying that her cocaine supplier had product available for sale. She was observed picking up the supplier from a residence, and they reportedly met in the 900 block of Highway 6 East, where two grams of cocaine were exchanged for $160.

On November 18th, Mattson allegedly contacted an undercover detective, saying she had cocaine for sale. An arrangement was reportedly set up, and the two met in the 1400 block of Willow Creek Court in Iowa City to exchange 3 ½ grams of cocaine for $300.

Februrary 1st, an undercover detective made arrangements to meet with Mattson at her East Main Street apartment to purchase 3 ½ grams of MDMA for $300 around 9:45 that night.

On February 3rd, investigators with the Johnson County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at Mattson’s apartment. They allegedly found a bag with about 6 grams of MDMA, a digital scale with residue, a black plastic container containing about 3 grams of marijuana, and a pipe with marijuana residue.

After being read her Miranda rights, Mattson reportedly admitted that she obtained about 14 grams of MDMA and had been selling it off. She allegedly admitted the MDMA in the apartment was hers.

A warrant was issued for her arrest, and she was taken into custody on Friday.

Mattson faces 4 Class C Controlled Substance violations, a misdemeanor marijuana charge, and a separate non-felony controlled substance violation. If convicted on all counts, Mattson could be sentenced to up to 43 years in prison. After her initial appearance, she was released on her own recognizance and awaits further court dates.
