An underage Iowa City woman was taken into custody Saturday afternoon after reportedly being found with a fictitious ID, alcohol, and marijuana. Her companion faces drug and alcohol charges as well.

Police made a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Boyrum and Highway 6 at around 3:45pm. 18-year-old Natalya Johnson was a passenger in the vehicle, and a probable cause search was conducted.

Johnson’s purse reportedly contained a “Kinky” alcohol shooter, and a fictitious Illinois license showing her to be over 21. A small bag of loose marijuana was allegedly found underneath her seat.

Johnson was charged with Possession of a Fictitious ID, Marijuana Possession, and Possession of Alcohol under Legal Age second offense. If convicted on all counts, she could be sentenced to up to 25 months in jail.

In December, Johnson made news after allegedly being involved in a physical assault at Tate High School. She was accused of throwing a chair at a victim and then assaulting the person with her hands and feet. The victim reportedly suffered a bloody nose and minor facial injuries. Witnesses at the scene ID’d Johnson as the aggressor. She faces an Assault Causing Injury charge in that incident, and has a case management conference scheduled for March 29th.

The driver, identified as 18-year-old Emmanuel Ross of Taylor Drive, faces drug charges as well. Police say the vehicle smelled strongly of marijuana, and during the search, he was reportedly found in possession of approximately 12 grams of loose marijuana in several small plastic bags, consistent with intent to sell and/or deliver. Ross also allegedly had a large amount of tens and twenties on him, four THC cartridges and several tobacco products. There were also three alcohol shooters in Ross’ glove compartment.

He faces a controlled substance violation, as well as charges of Driving while Suspended and Possession of Alcohol as a Minor. Ross faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
