Kum & Go clerk accused of ringing up hundreds of dollars in gift cards without paying

A local convenience store clerk faces charges that he rang up hundreds of dollars in gift cards for himself without paying for them.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Hunter Rowe of North English was working as a clerk at the Kum & Go on Village Drive in Tiffin. Arrest records indicate that at around 6:15pm on January 7th, Rowe rang up a number of gift cards without paying. The total value of the cards was $689.90. The incident was captured on closed circuit television.

Rowe was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 8:45 Friday night and charged with 3rd Degree Theft. If convicted, he faces a maximum of two years in jail.
