A Wayland woman stopped on northbound US 218 early Thursday morning was arrested when she was found with weapons and drugs.

Police stopped 27-year-old Hailey Egley at 3:45am for speeding and having a plate light not working. The officer who came in contact with her observed a holster on Egley’s right hip. She allegedly admitted to having a firearm in the center console of her vehicle. Also observed in plain sight was a meth pipe and a scale.

Upon further investigation, officers found that the firearm had a round in the chamber, and a magazine with rounds that matched the firearm, a pipe, and a baggie with a crystal substance.

Egley was taken into custody and charged with Carrying Weapons, Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted on all counts, she could be sentenced to over four years in prison.
