Iowa’s senior citizens will begin receiving COVID-19 vaccines next month.
At a Thursday news conference, Governor Kim Reynolds announced that all Iowans age 65 and older will be able to get the vaccine starting on February 1st.
Reynolds says Iowa is receiving about 19,500 doses of the vaccine a week, which ranks 46th nationally. Iowa is the 40th most populous state. Reynolds said Iowa ranked 15th nationally when it comes to vaccine distribution.
The governor added that a new vaccination dashboard will soon be available on the state’s COVID-19 web site: coronavirus.iowa.gov
