A Hope House resident’s move to Successful Living was anything but successful, as evidenced by recent incidents involving urine, vomit, and inappropriate sexual advances against another resident.

49-year-old Brett Young, who was sentenced to Hope House on a 3rd Degree Burglary conviction, was transferred from the Holiday Road facility to Successful Living on December 29th. On Monday, Young’s probation officer received an email saying Young had been evicted from the Successful Living program due to ongoing alcohol use and a series of events that presented a danger to the other residents, the landlord, the landlord’s employees, and others.

The email claimed that since Young moved in, he threatened to assault another resident, urinated on furniture, vomited in the living room and kitchen area without cleaning it up, and sexually harassed another resident by touching him in a flirting manner and indicating sexual interest.

Young was served with an eviction notice on Tuesday and taken to the Johnson County Jail on a probation violation.

Young has a history of not getting along with his housemates. His 3rd Degree Burglary conviction stems from a 2019 incident in which he stole booze and cigarettes from a fellow resident at Cross Park Place.
