Iowa Athletic Department announces 14 positive COVID tests for second week in row

For the second week in a row, the University of Iowa Athletic Department announced that 14 members tested positive for COVID-19.

In the week ending December 27th, 14 of 386 tests came back positive, a rate of 3.63%. The previous week, there were 443 tests and 14 positives, a rate of 3.16%.

Last week, University of Iowa Football suspended in-person activities for five days after an outbreak that included Head Coach Kirk Ferentz, assistant coaches, and a handful of players. Due to privacy laws, it is not known what members of the Athletic Department tested positive for coronavirus this past week.

Since testing began at the end of May, the overall positivity rate through December 27th is 2.83%.
