The National Weather Service says a large storm system is forecast to move over the region Tuesday through Wednesday. At this time, it is expected to begin as snow Tuesday, then become a wintry mix of rain, snow, and possibly freezing rain Tuesday night into Wednesday. Snow accumulations of over 2 inches are most likely north of Interstate 80. Heavy snow amounts are possible, mainly in northeast Iowa. Confidence on the track of the storm, as well as specific snow amounts remains low at this time, but this storm is expected to impact travel.
