An incident last week at Tate High School has led to the arrest of a student.
According to police, were called to the school December 16th at 2pm after a verbal altercation turned into a physical assault. 18-year-old Natalya Johnson of Arch Rock Road struck the victim several times in the face with her hands and feet, causing a bloody nose and minor facial injuries. Johnson is also accused of throwing a chair at the victim prior to the alleged assault.
Witnesses interviewed at the scene indicated that Johnson was the aggressor in the attack.
She was taken into custody and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury, a serious misdemeanor. Johnson was released on her own recognizance by Judge Deborah Minot and has been ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim. An arraignment date has yet to be set.
