A transient faces charges that he broke a wine bottle over the head of a convenience store customer.

The incident happened just after 8:30 Friday morning at the BP on Devoe Street in Lone Tree. According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, 66-year-old Sherman White had been in a verbal dispute with another customer over his treatment of the clerk. The argument escalated, with the other man allegedly shoving White to the ground. As the man turned around and began walking away, White allegedly grabbed a wine bottle and broke it over the man’s head.
