An Iowa City woman faces a long prison sentence after allegedly breaking into an apartment that she abandoned.

Police were called to Friendship Street for a fight in progress the afternoon of May 25th and arrived to find the alleged suspect, 22-year-old Trashay Holman, gone from the scene. The subsequent investigation determined that Holman went to the residence after being told that her possessions were set outside since she abandoned the property. She broke the front door to get inside, and assaulted the alleged victim by punching her in the face several times. The alleged assault was witnessed by another resident.

A warrant was requested for Holman’s arrest; she was booked into the Johnson County Jail on 1st Degree Burglary charges Sunday afternoon. If convicted, she could be sentenced to up to 25 years in prison.
