The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, or RAGBRAI, will be back for the summer of 2021.
Registration for the annual event, which was cancelled last summer due to the coronavirus pandemic, begins today.
Next year’s ride starts on July 26th in Le Mars, then continues through Storm Lake, Fort Dodge, Iowa Falls, Waterloo and Anamosa, before ending in Clinton on July 31st.
Registration is $175 for weeklong riders and $35 for weeklong nonriders. Day passes are not currently available as RAGBRAI organizers work out COVID-19 safety concerns with the host cities. Officials believe once those issues are worked out, the single-day passes will be available after the first of the year.

Last year RAGBRAI and what was to be a debuting competing ride, Iowa’s Ride, were cancelled due to the pandemic. Iowa Ride founder TJ Juskiewicz. a former RAGBRAI director, has since moved to Arizona to become executive director of a bicycle ride in Tucson.
