UI presidential search committee hopes to fill position by end of April

The University of Iowa could have a new president by the end of April.

That’s according to a timeline released by the presidential search committee on Friday. The timeline indicates the committee hopes to name semifinalists for the position by March 22^nd, interview them and name finalists by April 6^th and 7^th, bring finalists to campus between April 19^th and 23^rd, gather feedback from the UI community through April 29^th and name a new UI president by April 30^th.

Advertising for the open position begins on January 14^th.

Current president Bruce Harreld announced in October his intention to retire. He said he would stay on in the position until his replacement could be chosen.
