A Coralville fast food employee is accused of assaulting a co-worker Friday afternoon.

Coralville Police were called to Burger King on Crosspark Road at 1:30pm after an employee reported being attacked by a co-worker. An investigation determined that 19-year-old Elias Jiles of the Holiday Lodge manufactured housing community in North Liberty had been in a verbal confrontation with the co-worker when he shoved him with both hands, knocking him to the ground. The alleged victim reported breaking bones his right hand while trying to brace his fall.

The incident was caught on security video, and Jiles allegedly admitted to shoving the co-worker.

Jiles is charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury. If convicted, he faces a maximum of one year in jail.
