A local food rescue organization has lost their fight to get their Facebook page reinstated ahead of one of their biggest fundraising initiatives.
Table 2 Table was informed last month that Facebook unpublished their page for violating community standards, and it is believed to be simply an error as none of the information Table 2 Table posted violated the company’s standards. Posts are exclusively updates on local hunger relief efforts and stories that support the social service network in the area.
Executive Director Nikki Ross says that Facebook still hasn’t reviewed their appeal for the page to be republished.
With the holidays being a critical time for local donations, they look to Giving Tuesday on December 1st to get the funds necessary to continue their work. They also use the page for volunteer recruitment, as current volunteers have reduced availability during the holidays.
With the page down, Table to Table is encouraging donors to go to their website to make their donations this year. That site is available at www.table2table.org/donateonline.
