The National Association of Basketball Coaches announced that University of Iowa senior Luka Garza has been named to their Player of the Year watch list.
The Washington DC native has already been named the only unanimous Associated Press Preseason All-American, Big Ten Preseason Player of the Year, and named to the Naismith Trophy Player of the Year and Kareem Abdul Jabbar Center of the Year Award watch lists.
Garza and the Hawkeyes open their season Wednesday against North Carolina Central at Carver Hawkeye Arena. The game will tip off just after 3pm and can be seen on the Big Ten Network.
