A trial date has been pushed back again for a Solon man accused of sexually abusing two girls.

49-year-old Robert Egesdal of Highway 1 Northeast was originally set to stand trial on March 17th. But Judge Patrick Grady granted a continuance, and the trial was pushed back to June 2nd. It was then pushed back again to December 1st, and on Friday, Judge Paul Miller pushed it back again to March 2nd.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Egesdal began a pattern of sexually assaulting a young girl at his residence starting in 2014 when she was 12. The alleged abuse continued through April of 2019.

The alleged victim told investigators that she resisted Egesdal’s advances on numerous occasions, but he persisted and forced himself on her multiple times.

The alleged assaults happened when Egesdal was watching the girl while her mother was at work.

A relative of Egesdal’s also told investigators that he inappropriately touched her at his residence on June 12th of 2019. The girl said she told him “no” multiple times, but he continued the abuse.

Egesdal is charged with five counts of 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse and one count of Incest. If convicted on all counts, he faces a maximum of 55 years in prison.

On Friday Miller set a case management conference for January 8th.
