Iowa City police investigating a burglary arrested a Montezuma woman Tuesday night for meth possession.

According to the arrest report, officers were investigating a report of a trespass and burglary in the 2100 block of Palmer Circle at 7:40pm. There, they came upon 43-year-old Carrie Christy, who was patted down with her permission. A subsequent search of her jacket and purse located a small zippered pouch containing three needles and one glass pipe. Each item either contained a measure of or a trace of meth.

An officer asked Christy what the items were, and she allegedly said, “Those are all for meth.”

The report states that Christy was displaying fidgety behavior, including sudden movements consistent with a meth use.

Christy was taken into custody and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted, she could be sentenced to over a year in jail.
