Iowa City Police investigate shots fired incident

Iowa City police are investigating a shots fired incident that occurred Monday night.

Officers responded to the area of Mormon Trek Boulevard and Walden Road at approximately 9:34pm on several reports of shots fired in the area. Upon investigation, one unoccupied vehicle parked in the area of Clearwater Court and Bittersweet Court was damaged by gunfire, and several shell casings from a handgun were found nearby.

There were no reports of injuries, but at least one vehicle was damaged . Police have no suspect information and are not releasing further details.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the ICPD at 319-356-5275. In addition, any one with surveillance video of the area on or about the time of the incident is being asked to review their recordings and contact police if they have footage that could assist police in their investigation.
