Allegedly graphically describing how he would kill a woman has led to a Coralville man’s arrest.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says 41-year-old Jeremy Kubik of Holiday Road had been harassing the woman since July. She came to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office on South Capitol Street on August 22nd to report a pattern of unwanted contact by Kubik, including phone calls and text messages. The woman had reported similar conduct to the sheriff’s office twice previously, with deputies contacting Kubik on July 17th and August 14th to tell him to stop contacting the woman.

On September 9th the woman gave the sheriff’s office screenshots from her phone showing unwanted messages from Kubik via various social media sent on August 31st, September 3rd, September 8th, and September 12th.

On Thursday, Kubik allegedly tried to contact the woman approximately 60 times, culminating with him allegedly leaving her a voicemail at 9:50pm stating, “I will spread your brains all over the Coralville Strip.”

Kubik was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 11am Friday and released at 1:45 Saturday afternoon. He’s charged with one count of 1st Degree Harassment and two counts of 3rd Degree Harassment. Of convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of 26 months in prison.
