Iowa City Police say planned protests downtown could lead to traffic issues this weekend.
The ICPD says according to various sources, more protests are planned to happen each of the next four evenings, Friday through Monday, beginning in the downtown Iowa City area. Recent protests and marches have caused traffic congestion and delays for motorists. The ICPD is currently unaware of the protesters’ intentions and possible affected areas.
Motorists should be aware of the possibility for delays and congestion related to these planned protests in the Iowa City area. Iowa City Police say they will attempt to direct and reroute traffic to prevent congestion and hazardous conditions as best they can.
