Homecoming will go on as scheduled at the University of Iowa despite the loss of fall football.

On Friday a post on the official UI Homecoming Instagram account said that while Homecoming 2020 will look quite different than in years past, festivities will still be held this year from September 28th through October 4th.

Under a revised schedule issued by the Big Ten earlier this month, October 3rd would have been a home game against Northwestern. That schedule was scrapped a few days later when the conference announced all fall athletics would be suspended for the fall 2020 semester due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Big Ten has said it hopes to make those sports up in the spring.

A representative from the UI Homecoming committee told KCJJ this year’s parade will be virtual, although what exact form that will take has not yet been revealed.
