The Iowa Derecho Storm Resource team has relocated their operations to accommodate the continuing high demand for their services.
In a release today, the group’s Facebook page has brought in over $120,000 in cash donations, and continue to get donations of needed supplies.
The group is now located at 5001 First Avenue Southeast and continue their daily hours of 8am to 8pm. They are serving up free meals throughout the day. Visitors are reminded to be patient, wear face coverings, and practice social distancing.
Urgent needs on top of cash donations include ice, tarps, flashlights, gas cans, coolers, charcoal, non-perishable food items, extension cords, batteries, candles and fuel.
Financial donations can be made through the Facebook page, Venmo, PayPal, and at the site.
Volunteers will be heading into areas hardest hit to assist with cleanup. To help, email info@derecho2020.com .
