Iowa City Police respond to early morning stabbing and armed robbery

Iowa City Police are investigating an early morning stabbing and robbery.

According to an ICPD news release, officers responded to Delimart on Lower Muscatine Road at 12:03 Friday morning for a report of an armed robbery. First-arriving officers found an adult male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and is currently in critical condition.

The suspect, described as a tall, skinny, black male, wearing a black t-shirt and black hat, fled the scene in an unknown direction prior to officers’ arrival. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate anyone matching the description.

The Iowa City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in providing any information related to this case. Anyone with information is asked to call the Iowa City Police Department at 319-356-5276.
