On Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2020, Iowa City Police took a report of a suspicious male driving a red sedan on Maple Street in Iowa City. The male reportedly followed a child who was on a bicycle and asked multiple times if the child wanted a ride. The child rode away and was not physically harmed.
The driver of the red sedan, who was a stranger to the child, was described as approximately 35 years old, multiracial, with a beard. The Iowa City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the male and/or vehicle. Anyone with information or possible video is asked to contact Investigator Gabe Cook at 319-356-5276. Iowa City Area Crime Stoppers is also offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information about this incident that leads to an arrest.
