Cedar Rapids FD investigating late Sunday morning fire

The Cedar Rapids Fire Department is investigating the cause of a late Sunday morning fire on the northwest side of the city.
A news release from the CRFD indicates that they were dispatched to a residence fire at 2608 Iris Avenue Northwest at 11:33 am. A neighbor who lives behind the structure called in the blaze at the two-story structure.
Arriving firefighters found the fire in the ceiling area in the back side of the roof. Smoke reportedly permeated both floors of the residence.
The fire was discovered in the attic and was extinguished while personnel ventilated the structure.
No one was home at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported. Smoke detectors were working when the fire broke out.
The residence is not habitable at this time, and the FIre Department is investigating the cause of the blaze.
