A North Liberty woman was arrested on a warrant stemming from a March incident where she was found with unprescribed amphetamine.

According to police, 52-year-old Brenda Cretsinger of Golfview Court was stopped near the intersection of Jones and Zeller streets on March 20th just after 11pm for an equipment violation. A K9 gave a positive alert to the presence of illegal drugs in the vehicle, and a search of Cretsinger’s purse turned up a bottle containing various pills.

One of the pills was sent to a lab for testing, and it was confirmed to be amphetamine. Cretsinger allegedly admitted that she did not have a valid prescription for the pill.

A warrant was issued for Cretsinger’s arrest on August 5th.  She was booked into the Johnson County Jail on Thursday morning and charged with possession of a controlled substance, a serious misdemeanor. She was released less than a half an hour after booking. A preliminary hearing has yet to be set.
