A Solon man was killed by falling trees during Monday’s storm.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office said that Ely Fire and Area Ambulance responded at 2pm to a fatality on the biking trail near Ely Road and Wright Brothers Boulevard.
Officials say 63-year-old Thomas Rowland had been riding on the biking trail when the storm blew through, causing several trees to fall. Rowland was struck by one of the trees that fell on the trail, and sustained severe injuries that ultimately led to his death on the scene.
No other information has been provided at this time.
