Allegedly hitting his sleeping brother with a chair has led to an Iowa City man’s arrest.
Iowa City Police were called to an address on Amber Lane just before 8pm Friday for one person injured in a fight. An investigation determined that one of the residents, 19-year-old Jihad Fair, had struck his adult brother with a chair while he was sleeping, then hit him with a stick and bit him twice.
Fair’s brother had bite marks and bleeding.
Fair is charged with Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Injury. If convicted, he faces a maximum of one year in jail.
Last April, Fair was arrested after head-butting the same brother and assaulting his father. He spent 12 hours in jail and was given credit for time served.
