An Iowa City man was taken into custody after an alleged window breaking spree earlier this month.
According to police, 20-year-old Noah Peterson of the 200 block of Church Street was spotted throwing rocks at multiple residences, including those in his block, the 400 block of Fairchild Street, the 200 block of Ronalds Street, and the 500 block of North Gilbert Street on the morning of July 6th.
Four of the houses had windows destroyed. Total damage to those properties totaled $1350.
When confronted about his actions, Peterson stated he was “pretty intoxicated” and angry with himself, which caused him to throw the rocks.
A warrant was issued two days later, and Peterson was arrested early Friday. He’s been charged with 3rd degree criminal mischief, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a prison sentence of up to two years if convicted.
