Cedar Rapids Police have released the name of a man believed to have shot a woman during a domestic incident Sunday morning.
A release from Public Safety Communications Coordinator Greg Buelow says that officers responded to a shooting incident at Oakland Court and Gardens on 1500 Oakland Road Northeast at 8:38am. Once on scene, they found a 23-year-old woman who had sustained a single gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Investigators learned that the woman and a 24-year-old man, now identified as Keenan Baker, were engaged in an argument when he shot the woman and fled the scene.
Baker is described as a black male, 5’9” and about 185 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. Police urge citizens not to approach or make contact with him..
