Iowa City Police investigating circumstances behind how male suffered gunshot wound

Iowa City Police are investigating the circumstances behind how a man suffered a gunshot wound Wednesday afternoon.

The ICPD responded to the 1900 block of Muscatine Avenue at 4:46pm for a male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Police say there is no indication that the public is at risk.

No arrests have been made and the incident is under investigation.

Iowa City Police are asking for the public’s help to identify anyone involved with this incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact Sergeant Jerry Blomgren at 319-356-5276.
