A Cedar Rapids woman was taken into custody this weekend when she was allegedly driving while under the influence.

State police report that they observed 60-year-old Deborah Young Stewart of Lost Valley Road Southeast unable to maintain her lane as she was traveling eastbound on I-80 near the 240 mile marker at 11:30pm Saturday. The trooper attempted to make a traffic stop on Young Stewart, but report it took her about a mile before she finally pulled over.

Indications of impairment were reportedly observed on SFSTs; Young Stewart failed a PBT and was taken to the Coralville Police Department. A subsequent Datamaster test showed a blood/alcohol level of .121.

Young Stewart was taken to the Johnson County Jail and charged with OWI first offense, a serious misdemeanor punishable by a jail sentence of up to one year if convicted.
