Coralville woman charged with OWI after speeding

A Coralville woman was taken into custody after allegedly speeding, and allegedly found under the influence.

According to arrest reports, 30-year-old Tamra Getting of 7th Avenue was locked on radar going 63 in a 45 mile-per-hour zone near Penn and Juniper streets in North Liberty Thursday at 3:26pm. She allegedly crossed the center line as she passed the officer, and once he stopped her, Getting reportedly almost went into the ditch.

After showing measurable impairment on testing, she allegedly admitted to both drinking alcohol and taking prescription drugs that were not prescribed to her. She blew .203 on a PBT and .150 on a subsequent Datamaster.

Getting was charged with OWI first offense, a serious misdemeanor punishable by a jail sentence of up to one year if convicted.
