Cedar Rapids police are investigating a shots fired incident that occurred early Thursday night.
According to a media release, police received a call at 6:40pm on reports of a subject shot on the 5700 block of C Avenue Northeast. Arriving officers located an 18-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his lower back.
Investigation into the incident revealed that the male and another subject were riding scooters northbound on the sidewalk when subjects driving by in a car opened fire.
The victim went to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
