Threatening his neighbors with a gun has led to a North Liberty man’s arrest.
North Liberty police responded to a fight in progress in the Holiday Lodge manufactured housing community just after 2am Thursday. Witnesses and victims told investigators that 25-year-old Luis Diaz, a Holiday Lodge resident, had pointed a gun at his neighbors during a dispute.
Diaz told police he had a BB gun with him, which he had grabbed for intimidation purposes. He showed officers where he kept the gun, which turned out to be an air soft pistol.
Diaz is charged with Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon. If convicted, he faces a maximum of two years in prison.
