A Coralville woman was taken into custody Wednesday night after officers were called to a Holiday Road residence on reports of a fight.
According to the arrest reports, officers knocked on the door of the residence in question, in the 2200 block of Holiday, and the man who answered the door had multiple cuts and scratches. 37-year-old Jennifer Booth, also in the residence, allegedly fled into a rear bedroom when she saw police.
Officers entered the residence and ordered Booth out of the bedroom, but she refused to open the door. Once officers made entry into the room, Booth resisted officers before she was handcuffed. She’s then accused of slipping out of her handcuffs and struggling with officers again. She continued to struggle as she was escorted out of the residence, and allegedly tried to bite one of the arresting officers.
Booth was charged with interference with official acts, and assault on persons in certain occupations. If convicted on both counts, she could be sentenced to up to 13 months in jail.
