An Iowa City man who was trespassed from the Iowa Lodge was arrested Wednesday afternoon after returning to the property.
According to police, 18 year-old Skylor Tinnes of Deerfield Drive and another person were causing a disturbance at the Lodge on the strip in Coralville and were trespassed from the property. They were advised not to return upon penalty of arrest.
Officers left the scene, but were called back soon after as the two returned.
Tinnes was arrested, but reportedly not without resistance. Police say he pulled away and refused to present his hands to be handcuffed. During the scuffle, an officer received an abrasion to his right elbow. Tinnes also yelled at the property manager, allegedly threating to “take him out.” The property manager took it as a direct threat, and told police that Tinnes told him earlier that he wanted to “kick his ass.”
Tinnes was charged with 1st degree Harassment, Interference with Official Acts causing Bodiliy Injury, and trespass, and could be sentenced to up to three years in prison if convicted on all charges.
