If you’re interested in voting absentee in the June 2nd primary, today’s the last day to get your request in.
Earlier this month, Secretary of State Paul Pate’s office sent requests for absentee ballots to every registered Democratic and Republican voters at their last known address.
As of Monday, Johnson County auditor Travis Weipert reported that his office received 22,284 requests for ballots, and had 7233 returned already.
Requests for absentee ballots must be postmarked by 5pm today to count. The audtor’s office is open for in-person absentee voting from 7:45am to 5:30pm ; they will be closed on Memorial Day, but will be open for voting Saturday May 30th from 8 to 5.
Monday June 1st is the last day for in-person absentee voting ahead of the primary on the 2nd.
