An Iowa City man was taken into custody over the weekend after a domestic dispute over money allegedly escalated.
According to the arrest report, 28-year-old Nelsomby Fils-Aime of Kirkwood Avenue and a woman were in a dispute over $500 and the ICPD were called to the residence on reports of the disturbance.
According to the woman involved, Fils-Aime armed himself with a kitchen knife and stated, “Back the eff up before I stab you.” She alleges that the argument continued near the top of a stairwell and states that he pushed her down the stairs.
The woman reported pain to her back and lower back due to the incident, and two of her friends were inside the residence at the time, and witnessed Fils-Aime armed with the knife.
Fils-Aime was taken into custody and charged with Going Armed with Intent, a Class D Felony punishable by a prison sentence of up to five years if convicted.
A no-contact order was requested between the two involved parties.
