Graduation weekend at the University of Iowa has seniors attending their ceremonies online…and now actor and philanthropist Ashton Kutcher has recorded a virtual commencement speech as well.

The nearly eight-minute long speech is available on the university’s official YouTube page. It includes Kutcher, a Clear Creek Amana graduate, explaining how when he was a student at the UI, he had a master plan. It included getting a biochemical engineering degree, taking a job as a geneticist and earning a six-figure salary. But he quickly learned, sometimes you have to throw out your master plan and start over.

Kutcher went on to point out most college students still don’t even know who they are.

Kutcher notes his own journey took him from model to reality show star to actor to venture capitalist to philanthropist.
