A Coralville woman was taken into custody after a reported domestic assault fueled by alcohol.
Police were called to the 900 block of 20th Avenue just after 11pm Wednesday on reports of a domestic assault, and met with the victim outside the residence on the front stoop.
The victim, a male, reportedly said several times, “Don’t look at my face please.” Police say he had blood running down the right side of his face, an obvious deformity to the bridge of his nose, and a bite mark with significant blood on the man’s right arm.
The alleged subject, 42-year-old Rhiannon Kutcher, and the man were alleged to be both highly intoxicated. They have been in an intimate relationship and have cohabitated within the last 12 months.
Kutcher was taken into custody and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault with intent to inflict serious injury, an aggravated misdemeanor. If convicted, she could be sentenced to up to two years in prison.
A no contact order was requested between the two parties.
