An annual summer tradition in North Liberty is skipping a year.
Organizers of Blues & BBQ have made what they call the disappointing, but careful, decision to cancel this year’s event.
Nick Bergus, Communications Director for the City, says in Monday’s news release that even though the festival is three months away, the current coronavirus pandemic makes planning and executing the festival this year not only challenging, but potentially irresponsible.
The release goes on to say that the decision has the backing of the festival partners and sponsors.
The 2021 Blues & BBQ is scheduled for July 10th.
