An Iowa City man was taken into custody after an alleged assault on his father.
The incident, allegedly involving 18-year-old Jihad Fair of Amber Lane, occurred just after 5pm Sunday at the family home.
According to police, Fair was involved in an argument with his father which turned physical. Fair reportedly broke a window, privacy fence and railing on a deck, then assaulted his father as the father attempted to stop him.
Officers arrived on scene and attempted to lead Fair toward the front of the house. As they were doing so, he reportedly head-buttted his younger brother.
Alcohol may have played a part in the altercation, as police got a PBT from Fair showing a blood-alcohol level of .195.
Fair was taken into custody and charged with first offense domestic abuse assault, a simple misdemeanor punishable by a maximum jail sentence of 30 days if convicted.
